Moler clay vs Tropica aquarium soil..

Is there a difference between fine grain moler clay and Tropica aquarium soil?Other than the obvious colour and moler clay is inert at first.

• Are they both easy to plant in.
• Are they heavy enough that the grains don't get blown around and the plants stay put.
• Will they both hold a slope.
• If you put fertiliser under moler clay, will it then be basically the same as Tropica soil.

This will be in low tech aquarium.

Any help much appreciated.
