New Pico coming soon
Tank has been ordered tonight and should be here by next weekend.
This one is going to be an Odd one indeed, don't think anyone on here has used this tank before for a nano/pico.
The shape of this will make it challenging to scape and plant, but that is what appeals to me about this. And to see what will work and wont work.
Will of course document the build of each stage if I remember to do it.
This will be a very fun little project to do.

Dimensions -
Width 15cm * 13 * 14
Filtration - DIY canister
Lighting - Pico LED unit
Planting - Buce and moss
Hardscape - Wood
Substrate: Unipac river sand

It's here and love it.
Can't wait for all the bits to arrive and can make a start on the scape etc

Not done anything more with this yet, as not felt the right inspiration to kick start it. So plants are currently in the main tank wedged into the Island plant mass.
I have note found the right size click-lock tub yet to suit this size, need to go to wilko or ikea and have a look.
I am leaning more on making my own inlet/outlet set using a biro, just need to find the right one aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

A few pix from the initial filter build.
In the end it did not work well. So starting again with a larger tub in the morning.

After made this initial outlet I made up some more. I used the metal straws to make the inlet and outlet using a dremmel and crimping the ends.
I will use fairy light suction cup holders to keep them in place.

Will take pix of them when trialling the 2nd design.

Both Builds have failed, The tubs were just not strong enough, and kept warping from the water pressure. So were getting leaks, Binned the lot.
Will source a better tub and try again in a few days.
Went foraging with the dog this morning, and found a lovely peice of wood and some moss.
Glued a few Buce to it and Glued it to the base, so that I dont have to boil it for a few hours to make it sink.
Added a few stems etc and shoved them to the back of the wood. And added some in-vitro flame moss and some floating plants.
Using the rechargeable USB lamp for this, as it has a bendy goose neck.

It's planted.
Just some cuttings from the main tank.
Took the wood out, I suspect it was not suitable to be submerged as water went foul. So did a100% water change this morning.
I have used:
White silica sand
Buce: godzilla cutting and another whose name I have forgotten. Detached them from the wood and just sitting on the sand
1 shoot if vallis.
x1 tub of flame moss.
Random moss from the island.
A couple of stems of orange juice
And a few stems of ludwigia
And a sprig of hydro trip.
A few floaters

It just has a blue ramshorn in it. And I think I will add some daphnia to it.
