I think they are pretty common types anyways. Will try and see how they grow being semi submerged for a month.

Anyone know what type of moss this is? was told it was Java but i am sceptical.

Hi all,
Definitely look like it might be true Java moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri). Moss I.D is problematic, but have a look here:
<http://www.aquamoss.net/Java-Moss/Java-Moss.htm>.

For a definitive I.D. you need a spore capsule, although the pattern of the cells in the leaf would be useful. This is T. barbieri.

Thanks Darrel, i think Java Moss will be suffice hehe. I will be putting some on ebay so just wanted to know the actual species.
