As title ^^

Is it safe to use salvinia natans with musk turtles?

I don't see how it would be unsafe to use it. In most tanks it becomes a weed so if the turtles ate it it might not be a bad thing.

The only downside might be aesthetics if they just shred it and let it float around.

I am more worried if it could be poisonous to them, do not have the turtles yet so it would have a while to grow and to help cycle the tank.

I'm not 100% certain but I don't think there is anything to worry about. It has been used to suck up nasties from water (like industrial sites) but I don't think anything would accumulate in the plant in an aquarium situation.
I know many creatures eat it in the wild.

Popped some in, can only improve water quality quicker and looks nice, gives a nice swampy feel.

I don't suppose any knows any plants that will grow semi submerged and won't get eaten by a turtle in the future?
