My first go at a planted tank.

Having had a marine tank for a few years and closed that down decided to have a go at a planted tank I'm open to advice and criticism as I'm new to this here is a picture all be it a bit cloudy having stired it up a bit adding some more plants

Hi Marty it looks good for a first attempt mate I'd move the 2 front plants they look a lil out of place and try to level out the sand/gravel at the front maybe look to get a lil more hight from your wood placement if possible

It looks great! That’s a beautiful piece of wood and your plants look like they’re enjoying their new home already :clap:
 
Some the plants are growing like weeds I've added a few more so I think I'm now fully planted currently looking into CO2

An upto date picture the grass at bottom a little yellow I put this down to me reducing lighting for the algae bloom I had but the lights have now been ramped up again so will see how they go.

Looks good - great growth! I'd guess the yellowing is probably just older leaves dying back as it makes the transition to your tank. Keep an eye on the new growth and see how that comes through.
 
I do love taking pictures cant believe how well it's starting to look just needs to be on a larger scale everything is just looking so vibrant and who does not love a cory

A little update have had a bit of a re-scape and changed a few plants around and have now added CO2 so will be interesting to see what happens with growth and the plants now
