Hi all,

Last night I spotted a mysterious plant that has appeared in my 30 litre low tech tank.

It is growing in a low light area in the back.

Possible explanations that might help narrowing it down;

1. I used to have a small Echinodorus red diamond that melted a few months back. Could it have been reborn?

2. I have been keeping a maidenhair fern on top of the tank. Could it be a spore that has grown underwater?

3. Recently I have planted a Ceratopteris thalictroides in that spot. Is it possible to have grown this way?

The plantlet's leaves are transparent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks @mort that would be great! I have never kept an Echinodorus so I didn't know that the transparency of the baby leaves is to be expected.

I will keep you posted.

Hi all,

The little plantlet keeps growing. To help it I cleared the area over and around it so that i receives more light.

Considering I was contemplating to get me a new Echinodorus after this one had melted, this is a welcome surprise.

It is an Echinodorus red diamond from Tropica.

Does it look alright to you?
