Are nitrogen and phosphorus dangerous to fish?I use tropica plant nutrition+ even though i ahve a lot of fish as i need good forground plant growth. Its also included in a fertiliser bag under the roots.I only got the bag and fertiliser liquid a short while ago and after doing w/cs and removing the bag after a co2 crisis, im wondering if they are safe as on the fert liquid at the front it says with a danger sign contains N and P ??
thanks

yep, they are safe :)
It is unknown what levels of PO4 are dangerous to fish, however people have dosed 10ppm PO4 with no ill affects. Also, nitrate becomes toxic at very high levels (in the hundreds). Again, i have seen people with 60ppm NO3.

Saying that, there isnt much point dosing those levels as the reccomendations will still give you perfect plant health providing everything else is ok :)
