How do I treat this? The algae has attached to grass that was originally there.

You have Cyanobacteria, also know as blue green algae.

It can be hard to get rid of in my experience.

Manually remove it regulary, scraping hardscape and siphoning from substrate.

Various theories are around about the cause. Poor flow and low nitrates are ones I've heard. In my case addressing these 2 issues made no difference.

I would get on top of your general maintenance, water changes, filter cleans etc and double check your ferts and co2.

If it keeps hanging around, try this

Amazon product ASIN B000QSK31M
I've found it very effective and once the BGA was gone it stayed gone.
