Hi Marcxw

I love this piece of wood. Looks like a truly underwater scape, something which is not usual. A bit more of plants and it will look perfect!

Jordi

Thanks Jordi!
Was originally going to be hardscape only but i had a bunch of crypts left over from my previous setup. I'm glad I kept them as it does make the whole tank come alive.
I was thinking of adding a few more plants
not to many as i want to keep it mostly hardscape and open water.
Might just break up the existing crypt bunch and place them strategically around the hardscape and let them grow out naturally over time.

Sorry have no idea, picked it up from a local aquarium store " drift wood"

Hi all,
Nice root.
Looks like mangrove root
That would be my guess as well, due to the <"very large buttresses">.

Tree below is <"Bruguiera gymnorrhiza"> (from Africa, SE Asia, Australia etc).

Nice hardscape.
Some floaters will help fish to feel safe, IMO. I like hardscape only or minimal projects, although I'd be tempted to put some tall crypt at the back, maybe balance (red).

Decided to break up the crypt..managed to get 8 plantlets out of it.
I think it gives it a more natural look.
Still a bit cloudy from uprooting and replanting.

That piece of wood is realy nice indeed.. These i never have seen at any LFS.. Would love to get my hands on something like that.. :)
Nice minimal scape too.. But i'm with Alexander, this is not a Tetra tank like this it needs overhang or floaters..
