New edge on bio filteration!!

My aqua one filter i used on my planted tank which ended up infested with algae and snails, some of these snails got into the filter and there they stayed.

I then changed the filter on my planted tank for a better one and used this filter on my cichlid tank because they were getting big and i only had a little fluval u2 filter in there.

The filter is still full of snails now, my water quality is good but there are no snails in the tank more than likley the cichlids eat them if they dont then my big featherfin cat will.

has anyone else had this?

I've had a load of snails in my canisters before. I don't know if they're actually filtering the water, but I hate those darned snails and throw them out every time. They multiply in the hundreds!
