new reset with glasgarten eviroment soil any tips?

I have the next situation. i keep losing shrimps in one of my tanks and i want to reset it. soil will be glasgarten environment soil. problem is i dont have any place to put the shrimps so i was thinking putin them in the same tank (after i change the akadama with the glasgarten environment soil). any tips on this type of soil? how should i proceed. weekly water changes or twice a week? Never used this soil before
