New substrate wc's?

Changed my substrate this weekend to ADA Amazonia, filter is cycled, would you be doing wc's everyday like a new set up or every other?

I would still do water change as new substrate would still have ammonia but not for long because your filter is cycled.

Everyday for a week then every other for couple weeks be enough?

If you got no live stock them that fine but if you do have them then every day until its cycle. I know api kit are not good but using them for ammonia test would let you know.

lol I just changed my substrate for a new bag of compost capped it, scaped it, filled with water and put fish back and have only done 2 water changes in the fortnight since its been done. fish seem ok but I would probably change more water if shrimp were present.
PS I haven't tested the water either I just assume the high plant mass mops up the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates.
