Hi everyone,

I have 2 fish tanks both at 69ltr each, i have been dosing with Tropica + plant. I find this is not working for my tanks, my ferns have brown spots/patches all over.

Can someone please help me with powder ferts as i have never used them before and wouldn't have a clue where to start.

If someone can help that would be fab.

Thanks,

Steph

here's an excellent article on EI http://www.ukaps.org/EI.htm

or james' planted tank http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/EI.htm is good if you want to mix up solutions

do you have any pictures? are you sure it is not the reproductive organs?
from tropica website "The black spots under the leaves are sporangia (reproductive organs), not signs of disease as many believe."
http://192.38.244.204/go.asp?article=295

also how much are you dosing? are you using CO2/easycarbo? how much light and for how long?

Chris

Thanks for your reply :)

No its not that.....its brown largish patches all over the plant. The newer leaves look washed out green, quite pale.

One tank have x2 24W and the other has 1 24w which i will be upgrading to x2 24W.

Yes i do have co2 going into the tank. My smaller tanks also have the same problem with the ferns.
