This wonderful product is coming to the shores of the UK via Aqua Essentials and it's very exciting.

We have both powder and normal soil coming in black. We're expecting it in 2 weeks time :)

We'll have lots of 10L and 3L bags

Will be interested to see the results using this soil. Pricing if compared to Euros seems to be pretty high.
But since it claims it can be used long term it will be the ideal soil for my setup, as I don't like to change substrate every few months.

Does this leach ammonia like aquasoil? Also, does it have to be capped, or is it a 'complete' substrate?

From what I can see on the link, it doesn't leach and its a complete soil!!

Have a look here too: http://www.pbase.com/plantella/naturesoilstepbystep01

Looks like he used Normal size for the bottom and then finner for the top.

Are you sure it's a complete soil?

The first point on the how to use guide states 'If necessary please place a fertilized ground on the empty aquarium'.

    http://www.oliver-knott.com/28+M52087573ab0.html
In this step-by-step guide (which looks to be the same as the link above, but with descriptions), again he mentions adding a fertilized substrate first.

This seems to suggest it isn't complete, in which case it's quite expensive really.

Just like Amano recommends Powersand underneath Aquasoil, the same applies to Naturesoil.

It's great to use just on it's own but if you want it to last longer, add a secondary nutrient underneath - I won't be doing that though.

i'm guessing it's just a selling ploy. ADA recommend you use power sand, but we all know its not needed. if your looking for a base, try adding tropica or jbl base layers.

i'm personally looking forward to trying this stuff!

great work rich in getting new products :D
