Awesome build, looks great

Congrats on a stunning low tech scape

Goes to show what can be done without overcomplicating things.

Thanks Matt
I'm really keeping this 1 simple and low everything, hopefully it all works out.
it's still early days but its settling in well.
The cherries barbs are loving it but on a diet, the ladys are chubby and greedy.

Light
Chihiros A 451 on 50% for 8 hrs a day. I bought the A plus extending arms to raise the led 15cm from the water level. No bad signs yet so I'm keeping it this way. Carnt wait to take the weight out.
I added a back light, a rgb 5 watt led remote control bulb, cheap as chips but really effective.
Cheers

You might like to use an extended very dim period and shorter brighter period... see Juris recent video on this. It's something I've adopted makes sense to me that it accommodates better viewing time and supports the plants best too...

Not sure about the light situation yet. I'll read the plants and see how things go. I will go up in time maybe 10 hrs but not intensity. I believe the plants use allot of energy to start photosynthesis when we switch on and I think it maybe unessasery for the plants to do that twice. I have ambient sunlight all day so I have to adapt to that aswell.
Do you mean jurijs jutjajevs ?
Thanks for the suggestion I will have a look into it.
Cheers

Not much change
Low tech slow tech, it's a nice change of pace.
The first proper trim after a month, replanted the tops,
Removed vesuvius, it was way too tall but grew well in low tech enviroment. Planted a few crypt parva and monte carlo to replace some of the moss balls, it was a bit dark inbetween the rocks at the front, it's all experimental for me so trial and error, the light is now on for 9hrs, no algea showing yet, maybe a bit of brown but could be diatoms, not sure but its slowly disappearing with a little help on matinence day,
