    Hi All.
Can anybody help with overdriving ? Have read loads of articles but am still not sure!! I have just bought a juwel rekord 70 and need to change the light. I have a light control box (for a (near :?: ) future project - ebay ;) ) that has 3 t5 ballasts each capable of running 2 x 54watt tubes. 2' tubes come up to 24watts - can i overdrive these tubes - 2 per ballast without making any modifications :?:

    Cheers

    Pete.

Overdriven flourescents can cause fires, personally I wouldn't try it for that reason.

There was a thread on The Plantedtank forum a few years back with graphic fire damage pictures where some guys apartment was pretty well gutted due to a fire caused by overdriven flourescents on a planted tank. To add insult to injury his fire damage claim was in doubt as well with his insurance company, self inflicted claim damage.
