Hi,
Thinking of upgrading to a larger tank (90 x 45 x 45 cm (35 x 18 x 18in)
was wondering if my existing lighting unit ( arcadia 60cm 4*24w) would be sufficient for the job.

How far high would I need to suspend the Luminaire from the substrate and how many bulbs on to produce sufficient par values at substrate?

Would I be able to reach all the sides with good lighting?

Thx

Mark

Hi mark,
It should be sufficient enough if it's hung a good 15 to 20cm above water level to allow the light to spread. Couldn't help you on par as you'd need a meter for that and 4 tubes should be ample lighting.

Thx Alastair, its what i thought but alway good to ask people with more experience

You don't need a meter. Just use this basic chart (there are more accurate updates to the chart but it's a good guide).
