Came home today to find one of my Crystal Reds almost peeling from part of his carapace. My only thought were that it could be a failed moult or damage from catching himself on something in the tank. Has anyone seen something similar before? First time I've seen something like it.

(sorry about the out of focus images he was too quick. Can you see what I mean on the front red section?)

Any help would be greatly welcome.

Woke up this morning to find him dead .

Still good to log it on here I guess so other people can see. Looks like it could be a multitude of factors according to the specialist shrimp forums, small localised ammonia spike, lack of minerals, cannibalism of freshly moulted shrimp - the list goes on!

Cheers for looking,
Neil

:( Maybe some chemicals. I always angry to my wife, she touch domestic chemicals and after forget wash hands before feed fish or other things. 8 months ago my Childerens maked crazy mix with milk and all possible food in my old 180L setup, luckily i saved all livestock.

Regards,

Its a failed moult imho.
Ive had similar happen before twice that i can recall and nothing can be done about it.
If the others are healthy id draw it up and forget about it.
