The Dwarf Sag I've planted in my low tech nano tank has taken off great so I'd now like to try it in my 240l.

Thing is... I have Green Tiger Barbs and they've wrecked my attempts to establish Dwarf Hair Grass: 1-3 tufts plucked daily.

Has anyone developed a method, short of removing the offending fish, of protecting young plants while they establish?

Tank divider ;)

but chances are your fish will work away at the plants once released anyway

In a heavily planted tank with CO2 etc, more chance the plants will outgrow the depredations

What's the environment? eg, other fish, tiger barb numbers, food, temperature, current, pH & hardness can affect behaviour as well

Platies, Ember Tetras, Cardinals, Rummy nose tetras, Corys...
Fed twice daily (Tigers have ravenous appetites)
Current/circulation is good, no dead spots.
Temp: 74/75f
pH: 7.4
Hardness High, I don't recall the exact kH/gH

One issue that I've mentioned elsewhere is that the barbs stay low near the bottom all the time when the light is on. Mid-dwellers my a**e!

I'd probably go for the remove option but trying to catch Tigers is, well......
