red root floaters growing emersed

Not my photo, but someone in our local aquarium group posted this. My Phyllanthus fluitans does start to grow above the waterline, but I usually trim it back or otherwise keep it under a lid (jumpers). I've wondered what would happen if I just let it grow out, but I didn't expect to see this!

Mine just grow flat along the waterline but I thin them out to allow light through and so that the corys can grab some air. Must try it in my emersed set up.

It's pretty cool when it does this. The first time I ever saw it was at Scaped Nature. The ones in my mini pond are starting to do it too, it seems to happen when the area reaches critical mass.
