Hi,

I got 3 bits of Redmoor but after a week in the tank they still have not sunk. How long does it take to fully sink??

Cheers :D

in australia, they call these golden vine and I've seen replies from people who said the wood hasn't sunk after months!

maybe you can tie lead weights (like those used in fishing)?

good luck!

Hi russchilds

I used redmoor in a previous set up and stuck a piece of flat slate to the bottom with mastic. The slate was bigger than the base of the wood so the substrate sat on the slate and held it down a treat.
I did leave the mastic to 'cure' for a week before I put it in the tank.

usually need 2-4 weeks for all Red Moor which we used. And used a quite a lot. In this timeframe we just weigh down them with stones. Those can be removed after a few weeks.

Thanks for all the replies! 1 piece has full sunk, 1 is half sunk (at the bottom but still not staying still) and the 3rd bit is floating. Once it's all sunk I can scape the tank. Will post some pics once its all ready. cheers! :D
