On my nano as part of getting everything ready to send it home for the summer I decided to reduce the photo period from 8hours to 5hours and to change when the lights came on so I'd be able to observe the tank at a more reasonable hour, I also felt it prudent to bump up the co2 a touch. Well, a week on and I'm now being nuked by diatoms in a tank that's been running for months now, why would something that's normally proscribed as a algal cure in my seem to case cause it?
set up: dennerle 20l
11w pc
Atomiser co2 on an hour before and off an hour before
GreenAqua ei mix ferts 4 pumps of each daily
50% Water change every 3rd day.
Actually baffled, just when you think you've got a grasp on it all!o_O
