Reg getting hot

Just touched my needle valve and noticed it was very hot! also the rest of the reg is pretty hot! :bored:

Is this normal?! im guessing its not! :mad:
 
Firstly I don't have my CO2 set up yet so don't take this as gospel. :?

This does seem strange as I would expect it to be cooler rather than hotter. Do you have a solenoid directly connected to the valve set-up?
 
If you have a solenoid attached to the regulator then the solenoid is energized in the open position and de-energized in the closed position. As a result the heat transmitted by the solenoid coils during the day is conducted into the metal components of the regulator.
