Just setup 2 x Eheim Pro 2028 on a 260L tank. Should I be using the spray bars on the returns?

Hi,
The choice of distribution method is yours. Some decide to go with third party devices such as glass lily pipes for aesthetics reasons while others use the spray bars. I find that large tanks under high lighting do better with the bars if properly positioned. Again, it depends on the lighting and the quantity/type of plants in the tank.

Cheers,

Hi,
It's best to ripple the surface, which break up scum, but not to break the surface, which would allow CO2 to escape.

Cheers,
