Hi
Got this tank as a stop gap to keep me interested as i had to break my big tank down due to moving house soon.
I got this second had for a good price so thought why not.
Tank spec
Kent Marine River Reef 90ltrs.
The filter is built into the back of the tank. First chamber heater.
Second foams course medium then fine.
Third chamber 1kg of bioholme media from previous filter. Carbon. Bag of pureagen.
Co2 through neo diffuser. Started with it in first chamber of filter but moved it into tank so i can see it to get co2 balanced. May move it back once tank balances out some.
Fourth chamber pump 1000ltrs per hour.
Started wirh hard scape and plants from previous tank. Like this.

Though there was a little to much wood. So decided on this.

lights are 2 x 36 watt t5 compacts and 5 x 1w leds. Will be changing these soon and removing the lid.
Will post some updates soon. To say i only bought this for a stop gap tank i am really liking it so far hehe.

The last post was around 3 weeks ago when i first set the tank up.( Been meaning to start a journal for a while)
Every thing seems to be going ok. Bit of algea here and there mainly on the wood.
Didnt like the sand much so got most of it out covered it with soil. Added some HC and a little UG to the forground. Some Alternanthera mini and Stauogyne repens.
Added some stems Rotala Wallichii and Rotala Bangladesh( Thanks Hoggie) and some Hygrophlia Pinnatifida to the wood.
Have trimmed the stems a little. But plan on doing a big trim at the weekend. Think its ready hehe.
Heres a pic of the tank today. Sorry for the quality if the pics. Only have my phone at the min.

Thanks all for the likes and coment.
Did a bit of a trim today along with the water change. The Hydrocotyle was starting to take over so trimmed this right back.
Trimmed the moss and glued more to the wood. Used abit to much glue in places but this should soon disappear i hope?
Trimmed the stems. Everything seems to be growing quite well really. Apart from the Anubias on the wood. Had it in bucket in the garage for a while so maybe its this or maybe its to bright for it in this position?
Whats good for cleaning the Acrylic without scratching?
Heres a couple of pics from today.

Really nice tank - really like it a lot.
Those reef tanks - or more generally tanks with built in filtration chambers really grow on me :)
Might be my love/ hate relationship with canister filters. Could never get on a friendly base with cleaning always find it a hassle.

So: Very cool tank.

Thanks.
Yes rhis is what i like about it too. It is all sekf contained in one unit. Stick it on the sideboard fill with water job done.
The filter is si easy to clean too. I just pull the sponges out each week and rince in the tank water from the water change. Suprised at how much comes out of them. Will take a pic of the water after next time i do this.
The only thing i dont is the hood has fans in to cool the T5s. So ordered one of these. Came today so will fit it later today or tomorrow. Should be quite and give me more control over the light.

Lovely tank!
I really like the two different parts (left and right) and the transition you acomplished.
Really beautiful.

Big hug dear friend.

Been thinking of gettting one of those LED lights for my 50L dennerle scaper's tank, will see how your goes ;)
Will keep you posted mate.Tryed it just sat over the tank these lights are crazy bright on full power:cool:.Brighter than the 2 36W T5s compacts in at the min:walkingdead:.But the level is ajustable. The light spread is nice and even too. First impressions seems good value for the price.
Was going to remove the hood a sit it above the tank. But looking at it should be a easy job to remove the T5s and fans and mount it inside the hood. Will order a tc420 so can create sunrise sunset and automate the brightness levels;).

Thanks Sam and Tim:).
Did a good 50% water change today, trimmed the rotalas down trying to get these to get more bushy.Pinched the growing tips out the A mini. Trimmed the H Pinnatifida on the wood.
cleaned the foams from the filter, first pic just rinced in the old tank water this is one weeks worth:eek:.
Did a bit of diy and fitted the new light in the hood. Very impressed with it at the min,The light penatration seeems way better.Might get the HC to come along better.Have it on level five at the min.:).

Did the water change and trim yesterday. Added a couple more buces Brownie Hades. Cut the A Mini back this hasnt got as red as i hoped and is starting to develop arial roots. So will prob take this out and add more Buces once we move.
Have changed the ferts more for convenience than anything else. Tropica specialists and premium 2 pushs each on alternate days. Also 2ml of Aqua Rebel
