Tanks been setup for 4-5 months and this rock has always been in there. I've noticed it turning black and now it's releasing bubbles from the top. The Otos always rest there; when feeding the majority of it lands on and around the rock.

No fish are showing signs of stress. Parameters are 0 0 5ppm, do not know the TDS.

It's only really affected on areas visible by tank light and sun light. Some of the fern and small pebbles have black on them but the other rocks are not affected. Should I remove the rock?

I've added some photos. Thanks.
Harry.

Looks more like some sort of black algae. If you don't want the algae you can spray it with some Hydrogen peroxide next time you do maintenance, wait 5 minutes then fill up the tank. Or easier still remove the stones and treat them outside the tank, then add them back. Your ottos, shrimp, snails etc will thank you.
