Sagittaria subulata equivalent for soft water?

Hi - recently planted SS in my low tech tank (http://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/lazy-moody-asian-autumn-ish.40599/). After 3 weeks everything else has stopped melting and is starting to grow.

But the SS has now started melting, and had shown very little growth anyway.

Reading previous threads here it's suggested that it does not like soft water - mine is very soft.

What would be a soft water loving equivalent of SS?

Thanks

Sagittaria platyphlla grows fine in soft water.

Description
Sagittaria Platyphylla is a popular undemanding foreground plant. Generally easy to care for as long as you make sure light gets to the bottom of your aquarium. Co2 or liquid carbon will provide further success with this plant, although not compulsory to grow this plant. It shoots out runners and can quickly cover the bottom of your aquarium.

If there is a shortage of nutrients the leaves often turn pale. If this happens then consider increasing your nutrient dosing.

Key Features:
  • A robust starter plant kept by many.
  • Suitable for CO2 and non CO2 aquariums.
  • Suitable for low light or high light.
  • Propagation through runners, where a thick carpet can be formed.

I'm not convinced on Sagittaria subulata not liking soft water - it's South American origin suggests that it likely does just fine ;) - my own tap runs KH 0-1 & GH 1-2 pH ~6, I quite like the Ss in Spec 19 tanks (kit lighting, no CO2, Tropica powder soil) as it stays low & makes for an easy care ground cover (I also began with Tropica 1-2-Grow)

My suggestion is just to heavily trim & wait & see what comes - if it's settled in & rooted, new leaves should fill in fairly quickly
