I am starting to scape my new 60x70x45 tank tonight 😁 and wanted to share the journey.

This will be by necessity a budget tank, having blown far too much on my paludarium...

It's a @Aquariums4life tank on a DIY 'temporary' stand. The substrate is ADA Africa on a John Innes number 3 base. The rock work is weathered Sandstone Grit.

The picture is just of the rock roughly placed.

Any thoughts , advice, suggestions for inspiration or ideas are welcome!

I am just about to move house so I thought I would post a picture before I strip the tank down.

The overall experience of using a dirted substrate with a aquasoil cap has proved particularly positive. Growth was initially slower however, once established the plants have romped away.

Apologies for the 'algae and all' photo. I have been unable to work on this for the last month and ran out of C02 a couple of weeks ago (while I was away from home for two weeks) and have tge inevitable growth of algae on the rocks.
