Shiny or Matt?

As some may have seen in another thread I’ve recently bought a stainless inlet/outlet set.

It looks far better than plastic but I’m wondering if it may look even better if the steel had a Matt finish?

I’m sure you’ve all seen the type but this is what they look like at present:

And this is the Matt finish I produced on a light fitting I made recently.

The light fitting is made of alloy but the finish on the steel would look very similar. I have my own sand blaster so producing a Matt finish on the pipes would be easy. Turning them back to a polished finish would be much more time consuming if I don’t like it! What do you think?

At the £20 cost I’d just order a second set to “matte finish” ;)
(or play with the set you have and order again if you don’t like the end result ...
though it would be rather nice to have both :cool:)

Of course there is another option - parts of the tubes inside the tank shiny, outside matt!? :lol:

Option three may be to mattify* one tube only and see how it looks.

* I just made up a word ... :)

I’m not keen on a brushed look and it would be much more difficult to get a consistent finish.
