I mentioned to my wife that I’d like to get some Kale to feed the shrimps. We aren’t growing any Kale at the moment but she did suggest the leaves of some Purple Brussels we have in the garden. Blanched and placed in the tank the shrimps went mad for it. I happened to leave the excess blanched leaf in a drawer and noticed it a day or so later. It had dried to a “crisp” but I thought “I wonder” and put a small piece in the tank anyway. It immediately sank to the bottom and once rehydrated the shrimps were on it again. I’ve now decided it might be handy to prepare a small supply like this from time to time when the leaves are available.
Fresh leaf cut into stamp size pieces.
After blanching and drying.
