Smaller version of H. angustifolia?

Gutted. I really love this plant. It grows beautifully in my tank and has exactly the right look (for want of a better word - Jurassic) that I need for background. Only problem is that it grows too big too fast. Haven't left enough room at the back for stems and it is already crowding out the wood.

Am about to rip it out and replace with vivipara but thought I should check if there's something similar but smaller/slower? Something with the same sort of long needle leaf fern like leaves and truncated (?) stems?

Here's the plant that I've got:

Just realised why I love it so much - reminds me of a palm tree.

Anyway, not sure if it's H. angustifolia or H. corymbosa angustifolia which are apparently different plants.

Any advice much appreciated.

The LFS I bought it from (Living Waters) call it Hygrophila sp. "Super Skinny". They don't know if it's angustifolia or not.

Hmm. Reckon it might well be Hygrophila lacustris.

As it happens I did a trim last night in the hope that thinning it out might work. Will PM you.

After a bit more research I don't think this is a lacustris. Have no idea what it is.
