I am new to this planted tank game, having kept aquaria with fish and very few plants for about 10 years. I am in the process of attempting to set up a new Fluval Roma (200L) as a planted tank. On the question of lighting, the tank comes with 2x 30w 36" tubes - named 'Power-Glo' and 'Aqua-Glo'. They both say on them 'ideal for planted aquariums'. After reading the comments on this board I am not so sure. Will these be sufficent for a planted set up? I am only a beginner plant-wise and am only looking to set up a relatively easy and low maint set up, to see if I can get the hang of it. If not, I'll just go back to fish! Also, how long per day should the lights be on for planted aquaria? Should the CO2 go on and off at the same time as the lights, or should they be staggered?
Any advice appreciated!
