Substrate heating

Good afternoon good people.
I still have, somewhere in my fish cupboard, a Dennerle substrate heater. (DENNERLE Bodenfluter cable)
It's attached to a controller (Duomat) which also controls a separate heater in the water column.
When I convert my reef tank to a planted tank, I'm thinking of using it.
Anyone still use these?
Any reason not too?

I’ve not used one but I have used under tank heaters. I used one on a 50 gallon community tank in the 1980’s. I’m currently running a couple of Nano’s with them at the moment.

Well, having read through the link, and subsequent links in @jaypeecee post, I'll not bother using it.
It seems they make little difference.
Thanks guys, appreciate your time.
