I'm in the process of deciding the final planting arrangement for my new scape, but am having trouble deciding what plants to go with
For those of you that have seen in my journal, I have a single piece of redmoor up which will be spiky moss and java fern narrow. The base of the wood will be surrounded with crypts, and most of the foreground will be an E. tennellus carpet.
I'm after suggestions for what to do with the rest of the tank, mainly background and midground. Ideally reasonably low maintenance species would be preferred. Any input?

I'd go with hairgrass over E T I've never known it to stay as small as tropica insist on telling us.

I haven't used e tennellus for a few years but would the runner plants not be smaller and more compact that the bigger ones you would probably get in a pot?

They are but not for long, see my scape for proof, all of the ET you see went in there as barely 5cm long plantlets they're now nearly 20cm tall.
