Sump help needed!

I’ve just bought a sump and need advice on how to set it up for a freshwater tank. It’s a TMC 900 sump, I’ve tried google but there’s lots of marine jargon I don’t understand!

I’m confused what the narrow chamber is for on the left as there’s no way into it from the other chambers?

I have the same. The narrow one on the left is a water reservoir for an auto top up.

Drain goes to back right chamber. Return pump in the back middle.

That’s a relief, i was expecting someone to tell me it’s wasn’t suitable for tropical! What is an auto top up?

Where the pipe comes in I have coarse medium and fine sponge cut to fit the compar5ment. I boought pond filter sponges because they are large and cheap.

In the next chamber I have alfagrog and clay pebbles.
