Super glue question

A question that's probably been asked many times but my search didn't find the answer I'm looking for which is:

How dry does hardscape need to be to glue plants to it. I've waterlogged wood and don't want it to dry out. Is wiping off the surface water sufficient?

I always dry it with kitchen roll first then hold the plant in place for a few seconds.

It actually works best when the hardscape is damp/wet. Superglue (cyanoacrylate) actually cures from contact to water, so having the items wet helps it cure faster, and spraying the bond with water to help it cure faster still - it can even be used submerged, but you have to be fast.

When I'm attaching things with superglue to wood or rock, I always spray everything with water first, apply and hold down for a minute, and spray again afterwards.

You probably know this already, but superglue underwater can turn a very solid white colour so it's good to have it not obviously slathered around unnecessarily but hidden under the materials that you're gluing.
