Hi all, after a bit of advice. I currently use a small plastic syphon tube for cleaning my substrate, but I am not to happy with it, doesn't seem to be much suction really and the exit from the larger tube gets clogged easily. I have seen some battery powered ones on fleabay and just wondered if these would be better. Does anyone have any experience with one of these battery syphons? or what do you use and are happy with. Thanks in advance. Chris.

I use the Fluval GravelVac. It comes in 2 sizes. I got the smaller one for my 80l. It’s good from a suctioning point of view, but as the hose is not the biggest not too much throughput. I like it, gives ample time but doesn’t take for ever. It can clog but on the other hand rather on the safe side for the critters. And best thing - no more hose sucking :)
