Hi all,
I have had my aquascaper 900 up and running now for the past 3 months now Iv had my highs and lows with the plants but I feel like the plants have settled in and starting to thrive with new stems. I’m doing weekly 50% water changes co2 running got a twinstar 900s light unit on a dimmer. I love the layout of the aquarium but every time i see the tank I feel like there’s just something missing maybe more hard scape or plants on the bottom of the tank I have grass which is starting to take to the tropica soil I do have tannings still coming from the large bog wood which I knew would happen so don’t know if that’s distracting me from seeing what the tank needs to add that extra wow factor. My Lilly was just a bulb when I brought it and that had completely taken off in the tank with 6 floating leaves on the top of the tank which I like 👍

looking for other’s opinions that maybe I haven’t thought about

all the help is much appreciated
Thankyou 😃

Hi all,
......something missing maybe more hard scape or plants on the bottom of the tank........
Some moss on the hardscape? and/or a fern on the lower area, Bolbitis heudelotii would work. I'm a great fan of <"Anubias, Schismatoglottis, Ferns etc."> they are very low maintenance.
The dwarf hairgrass definitely needs to fill in that patch on the right as it's lacking green
I also think a small Cryptocoryne sp. would work in the transition between the Eleocharis and the Lily / hardscape. I like <"C. x willisii">, but there are <"other options">.

cheers Darrel

Looking good, always love a lily. You probably need to add a lot more hairgrass as you have a lot of empty/exposed soil. Also all your lighting is concentrated at the back and the hairgrass looks like it's not recieving much light at the front to spread and create a lush carpet you want. The lily will also hinder you in trying to grow a carpet the more you let it grow.

Hi all Thankyou for all the encouraging messages about what I can add to my tank I was thinking of adding more hair grass another 5 pots but didn’t know if that was wise. A lot of people have mentioned about the light being more at the back of the bog wood but I haven’t had any issues with growth at the front of the tank due to lighting also with the Lilly it has taken off so well worth every penny if anyone would like to know where I got the bulb from sent me a message and I can forward the EBay seller. Also I have been looking into Hygrophila pinnatifida but wouldn’t know where to put it in my scape as I like the left hand side of my tank empty without plants and the right side packed with plants.
