Hi everybody,
last week, I was visiting the Bedgebury National Pinetum and I had a struck of inspiration for another Wabi Kusa - like project I decided to employ a tree trunk in my 25 cm round wabi kusa dish, which used to accomodate my old wabi kusa Dream of Eden.
I have found an very nice piece of wood, which perfectly fit the dish.
I have baked the wood for a good hour in the oven to make sure, all the insects, eggs and nasties inside are well done and then brush it throughout with a tooth brush.
As a substrate I have used Shirakura Red bee sand/left from my old attempts/, loaded with some osmocote.
All the plants are grown emersed and the plant list so far is:
Hydrocotyle jp.
Isoetes sp.
Ludwigia sp.
Weeping moss
Sphagnum moss
Bacopa amplexicaulis
Native fern
I'm working on the ligthing at the moment, it will be probably 9W Cree Led bulb on a DIY ADA style lamp holder.
On a later stage I might flood the dish.
All comments are welcome
