    Hi,
this is really a question as stated in the title. Am I wasting my TPN+ dosing if I still have the carbon sponge in my internal filter? If you suggest it's removed, do I replace with anything else. I'm talking about a 96l tank with internal filter and fluval 1.

    Thanks,

In a planted tank carbon is best used only as a short term treatment if you have stained tank water or similar that you want to remove. I'd remove it and you can put another normal sponge in or just leave that area empty.
