Hi All,does this plant require pruneing to get the best out of it,also is it best to trim off the leaves when first planting (like hair grass) ,regards john.

I've just stuck some in my tank and didn't trim it. Half has just melted away and half still looks ok. Only two plants out of eight looks really good but I think the others have just about gotten used to my conditions now and are starting to come back somewhat and start to grow.

Its actually a stem plant, so treat it as such :)
Agreed, it grows out shots which you can cut and replant and trim the long ones and replant those too.

Hi John, when first planting i cut off the roots to about 1 cm, remove any bad leaves and then split any stems, depending on how tall or bushy you want the particular stem.

I don't cut any blyxa in situ, there's too much. But by then i'm removing it all for a rescape.
