hey guys

I ended up ordering tropica 1-2 grow plants from two different sites. one of them is porton aquatics and the other was aquaessentials. Porton aquatics seemed to have a good deal going on as they were doing 2 pots mix and match of tropic for £4. Its a shame they didnt have all the plants i was looking for otherwise i wouldve saved more ££. I ordered 6 monte carlo cups and 2 waliichi cups. They called me the following day to say that they dont think two of the monte carlo cups are up to standard but with some tlc they should recover. they ended up asking if i wanted to wait for their new stock or if i wanted the two cups for the price of one making them £2 a cup. I ended up taking their offer for the 2 sub par monte carlo cups. They just arrived now and there are 3 that look like they are in bad condition. Do you guys see any problems with them? Are they worth planting? Will they receover?

Don't know enough to say if they would recover (they don't look like it), but i do know i would not be paying for them, even at £2.

I’d give them a go as pieces may grow back if you’re lucky, however I’d ask for all my money back too as they shouldn’t be getting sent to anyone but the bin.

Cheers

Conor

I had a very similar problem a few weeks ago with Tropica plants bought from Pro Shrimp. They offered me the choice of a refund or replacement plants. I took the replacements and pleased to say they were fine.

Pro shrimp and Porton aquatics sent me rotten plants before. I will not buy from them again.

Hi
I don't think its acceptable to send out any plants at the current temperatures!
Most of them will just melt/rot away.:grumpy:

I have had invitro sent in warm weather before and I can confirm it turns them mush pretty easily. I agree they shouldn’t be sent in excessively warm temperatures.

Cheers

Personally i think any supplier should at the moment with any plants send out with cool packs or offer that option a the cost of cool packs is cheap similar to sending out live fish with heat or cool packs in my option as when buying in bulk the heat/cool packs cost like 10-20p each so not much to add on considering safe arrival and to stop any claims

hey guys thanks for all the replies, since i agreed to the two cups at discounted price il leave them at that. But since there was one that came bad but not agreed upon i requested a refund and they agreed. im getting a delivery tomorrow from aqua essentials for some 1-2 grow tropica. I will update you guys as to how the quality is so that you know in fututre if to order during this climate or if to order from that retailer at all.

We've got opposite problems with overnight frosty temps which can damage but not completely melt plants and kill critters during transport.

Some will ship them with cold/heat packs if the shipper is the pro.
