I'll be really interested to see what can be done with one of these.

Not bad at all! Smart solution. Slate is quite easy to shape IME, perhaps you can shape the left pièce a little more, but other than that, bravo!

    Aquascape Details
    Tank Size 107 x 15 x 44 cm (42 x 5.9 x 17 in)
    Volume 70L (19 gallons)
Background The background is semi-transparent film covered glass
Lighting Two IKEA dioder rgb led strips; Juwel T5 High Lite Day, 54 Watt (12 hrs)
Filtration Internal AquaEl Unifilter 500 UV

Plants Cryptocoryne, Glossostigma sp., Vesicularia dubyana, Fontinalis antipyretica (collected in "Vinkeveense plassen", Netherlands, August, 2015), Myriophyllum spicatum (collected in Tarn river, France, July 2014).
Fish/Animals Neocaridina heteropoda, Caridina multidentata (japonioca) 11 Hyphessobrycon amandae 2 Otocinclus sp., Clea helena
    Decorative
    Materials
    Colombo Flora-Base soil, Slate rocks

The aquarium is wall mounted and therefor only 15 cm wide. The IKEA led strips are on when the T5 tube is off. One strip is placed behind the aquarium at the bottom, the other one in the tank above the water level at the front side. Colombo Flora Grow liquid is used for fertilization.

At the moment, no C02 is added, but air bubbles are blown through a diffuser. This is a test though.
Planning to lower pH and Calcium (DH, GH) to achieve a certain CO2 level without adding. I found out that adding CO2 didn't really work - probably because local tap water comes from the nearby dunes. Those are containing sea shells and therefor we get practically liquid chalk from our taps
