Weird plant death!

So I went away for a week, overall the tank wasn't too bad it had suffered a bit though,
the part I can't figure out is what happened to this patch of Marsilea Hirsuta, I could understand it if the whole lot had died.

Perhaps it's where you planted the original emersed growth. The rest could be new immersed growth; runners from the original.

A lot of it was new growth, they were only small patches to begin with from a tropica 1-2 grow pot, the other parts are ok at the moment which is why I'm confused it was only that patch,
plus the tank has been planted for just over 3 weeks now.
