Hi all,
I added new Monte Carlo into my new tank set up on Friday 25th Dec as that’s when I started the big project of getting the tank all ready and planted the first 7 days I I did a 50% water change I’m adding co2 into the aquarium also adding tropica plant food every morning tempture of the aquarium keeps to a steady 24c throughout the day any help and advice would be much appreciated photos are added to help to see what it could be.

It's most likely adjusting to its new home. Most plants are grown emersed. So when you submerged them the old leaves die off and new ones will grow. Not all may make it. I haven't tried it but the dry start method looks to work better with plants like this. By doing it that way it adust the plant slowly to 100% humidity giving it time to establish roots giving it a much better chance for survival.

The Monte Carlo Is from tropica I did plant in soil first before adding water spraying wile doing the long and pain taking task of putting them in there area of the aquarium. Should I see what happening in the next few days before taking further steps ?

Shall keep an eye on the Monte Carlo and see what happens as I did for the first week a 50% daily water change and now planning an 50% water changes every Wednesday. Feeding daily with tropical nutrients plant food. Also running co2 an hour before the lighting comes on and an hour before the light goes off the co2 turns off

Just confused why the Monte Carlo is going white the tank does feel cold even tho I have it set at 20c and it’s a little over 20c plus when I moved my dragon lotus bulb as roots looked to be growing and what I have read is when roots show then plant half way into the aquatic soil so did that but now when had hold of the bulb the roots just came straight off without any touching and a white substance came from it so not sure what’s going on there as the bulb is rock had not soft and mushy but still has roots attached that seem more established it’s just weird as not had this problem before in my Fluval flex as this is the first time I have moved to a bigger tank any suggestions on what’s happening ?

This is the temperature my glass reader is telling me also some extra photos of my plants at this current week into the aqua scaping

Ditch the glass reader they are notourisly inaccurate.....;)

1.Could be the CO2 enriched water isnt getting to the substrate level, so move the DC so it is just above (few millimetres) the substrate level at front of tank as sit changes the same colour change as when the DC was at top of tank, if it doesn't your flow in tank sounds inadequate.
2.If your CO2 levels are not stable enough the plants will be wasting energy adjusting to the changing CO2 levels during the photoperiod, the most important time for a stable CO2 is the first 4-5hours of the light coming on. How long before lights come on does your CO2 come on? about 2hrs is normal. Doing a pH profile helps to check for a stable pH/CO2
3.May be the light you have isnt powerful enough and when the light hits the plants at substrate level it may be enough for the plants, how long is your light period.

Point 2 is the most likely issue for most folk

Co2 does reach the substrate as seen micro bubbles flow past the Monte Carlo also the co2 comes on an hour before the light comes on and an hour before the light goes off the light unit is the twin star 900s

Action two, remove the plantlets and pick the best stems and leave them floating for a few weeks!
They will grow roots eventually and be higher up the water column to access more Co2.....then you will need to adjust the Co2 implementation so the Monte Carlo receives adequate Co2..to sustain new growth.

This is my bio Master 600 thermo is this correctly set up temperature. ?
