What lights to use to make the red plants birght red

    Hi guys

    I'm setting up a new tank
    120 x 60 x 50cm
    I want red plants to be bright red...
    what lights should I use?

    you will want a tube with a kelvin below 4000K (which is pink/ red in colour) also take a look here:

    Hi,
    Red or pink lights will accentuate the reds/pinks in plants. Grolux or Interpet Tri-Plus are pink bulbs. Generic bulbs which have a low Kelvin rating (4000K or below) should emit near red wavelengths, however the K ratings of bulbs have lost their fidelity. If you use too many of these bulbs though the tank tends to look dim and eerie.
