Are there stores in the south west that have an aquascaping dojo to test out layouts before buying the hardscape?

Not that I've found. I had to travel to aquarium gardens. (Worth the trip completely though)

I think one, or both, of the "Aquatic Store" in Bedminster and "Newport Aquatics" does. They both have FB pages so you could check first.

I think I remember seeing one at Aquajardiniere (?) at the Three Shires garden centre near Newent - South West-ish.
They certainly had tons of wood when I was last there.

Been buying my fish recently from Maidenhead Aquatics, Cirencester. They have a great selection of fish and they are VERY well priced e.g. 5 Cardinals/Lemons/Neons/Bentosi/Emperor etc for £10, Otos 5 for £16. They also have an aquascaping dojo, which is useful. Helpful, polite staff, too- they cracked open a new delivery of plants for me, before they'd even got it off the pallet.
