Ok sorry for sounding stupid but if I am buying 2 t5 bulbs for example
Osram Lumilux 880 Skywhite + Osram Lumilux 840
I just need 1 standard T5 but which one?
http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Fittings/T5-Standard-Ballasts
And sorry for sounding dim again but how many end caps do I need?
Is it one for each bulb or one for each end?

Many Thanks
Good question my mate - I was thinking this after I posted the reply / out the our Robbie on his walk.
http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Fittin ... 8Ta38Lbx50
is a single electronic ballast suitable for T5 tubes rated at 14,21,28 & 35 watt.
http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Fittin ... 8Ta38Lbx50
as above decription T5 tube rated at 24 & 39 watt
i have just broke the product coding:
HFP114-35, HFP1 = 1 x T5 tube - 14-35 is the range of tubes the ballast will start up - 14, 21,28,35 watts
HFP124-39, HFP1 = 1 x T5 tube - 24-39 is the range of tubes the ballast will start up - 24 or 39 watts
HFP149, HFP1 = 1 x T5 tube - 49 is the only tube the ballast will start up - 49 watts
HFP154, HFP1 = 1 x T5 tube - 54 is the only tube the ballast will start up - 54 watts
HFP180, HFP1 = 1 x T5 tube - 80 is the only tube the ballast will start up - 80 watts
Now the HFP2 work on the same coding but the 2 stands for 2 tubes so
HFP214-35, HFP2 = 2 x T5 tube - 14-35 is the range of the tubes the ballast will start up - 14, 21,28,35 watts
HFP224-39, HFP2 = 2 x T5 tube - 24-39 is the range of the tubes the ballast will start up - 24 or 39 watts
and so for the rest of the HFP2 ballasts same principle as the 49,54 and 80 watt tubes
and the
HFP314, HFP3 = 3 X T5 tube - 14 is the only tube that this ballast will start up - 14 watt.
So you want to run two T5 tube so you need HFP2 - the rest I dont know as you have not informed me of the tube wattage required.
As for lens caps - yes you do need two caps for each tube to complete the electrical circuit - so you need 4 x caps for your two tubes.
Hope this helps

paul.
