I use an Ehiem compact 1000.
Add 2-3metres of 16/22mm hose and a large 40litre container, and you've got yourself a alright water changer.
Put the pump in the tank with hose connected. Turn it on and either fill up the container or out into the garden.
I then position the empty container next to the fish tank, fill it with water from the tap (got 2x10litre buckets for this), dechlor, put the pump into the container with the hose end into the tank, switch it on and wait. Depends on how large the water change is, but the container might have to be topped up to prevent the level getting too low. (E.g. if you took out 60litres then obviously the full 40litre wont be enough, therefore when the level drops in the container, simply fill with more water).
