Will sand wash away?

Hopefully everything should be here tomorrow for me to start my dirty tank setup.

One question. Using pool sand on top of soil, if I have the soil going uphill at the back left, if I cover this with sand, won't the sand wash/move down the hill (when I say hill, I mean about 5cm higher than the soil at the front)?

Read a few pages on here and have learned that using plastic rectangles can stop it shifting.

I've got myself some greenhouse type netting to go over the soil before the sand goes in, so am not sure whether plastic will work as due to the netting, the plastic will only be as deep as the sand hence could still wash away

Just don't let your outtake from the filter/return blast it up. I put a rock there to diffuse it and eventually the sand will lock itself in and bond tight with the dirt
